Registered Nurse – COVID-19 Point of Vaccination Coordinator

Use your skills and experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) to help defeat the Coronavirus pandemic! Panhandle Health District (PHD) is searching for two experienced Registered Nurses to oversee the COVID-19 Point of Vaccination (POV) sites in the five northern counties of Idaho.  These positions will work with a team of public health professionals to coordinate COVID-19 vaccine services to the public.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and oversee the POV sites.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Maintain inventory of vaccine and vaccine administration supplies including receiving and transferring vaccine as directed.
  • Track vaccine doses administered.
  • Train volunteers and employees assigned to the POVs.

Registered Nurse

Are you a nurse with a passion for working with children and families?  Panhandle Health District (PHD) is seeking a full-time RN/BSN for the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program.  NFP is an evidenced-based maternal and early childhood health program that fosters long-term success for first-time pregnant mothers, their babies and society.  Watch a video about the NFP program:

This position includes nursing assessment, health education, referral, support and advocacy for low-income, first-time mothers.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop therapeutic relationships with clients and collaborate with community partners.  Strong communication skills are essential.  An Idaho RN license, BSN degree, and valid driver’s license are required.   Maternal/child health or home visiting experience is preferred.  The selected candidate must pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Salary is $27.12 per hour with a complete benefits package which includes, health, dental, vacation and sick leave, 10 paid holidays and a generous matching retirement plan.  There is no scheduled on-call or weekends, although occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on client needs.  A district car is provided for conducting home visits.

Clinical Assistant

Are you interested in a career with a mission to improve the health of North Idaho women, infants and children?  We are seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant to work in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program in our Hayden office.  The Clinical Assistant will provide nutrition information and resources in a safe, compassionate, and respectful environment.   Additional duties include making appointments, interviewing clients to determine eligibility in the WIC program, obtaining and documenting hemoglobin and anthropometric results, assessing health and nutritional status and providing information to meet individuals’ needs, including offering other community resources.  To read more about the WIC program, visit our website at

Minimum qualifications for the Clinical Assistant include experience interviewing to acquire personal information, basic math skills and documenting information.  Candidates that have experience taking and documenting height and weight measurements, experience utilizing electronic records systems and excellent communication/interpersonal skills are encouraged to apply.
