Health Education Specialist – Parents as Teachers Home Educator

Panhandle Health District has an exciting career opportunity in our Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.  We are seeking a Health Education Specialist to work with a dynamic team of professionals to provide comprehensive home visiting services to families.  The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of clinical practice with adherence to the PAT model.

Home Health Administrator (Public Health Program Manager 2)

We are searching for an experienced healthcare administrator to manage our Home Health Services.  PHD’s home health team of nurses and therapists serve the needs of home-bound patients throughout the five northern counties of Idaho.  The team supports health equity by serving patients and population groups regardless of their social, economic, demographic, and geographic status and backgrounds.   The successful candidate will have good knowledge of management practices and public health principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patients are equitably provided the very best medical care
  • Supervise and educate nursing and therapy staff
  • Establish and monitor home health standards of care associated with the Idaho Bureau of Facility Standards
  • Oversee the patient admission and deployment of nursing and therapy staff
  • Oversee quality of care projects associated with patient care
  • Interface with Home Health revenue cycle management team
  • Become familiar with electronic health records system

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of management practices and public health principles and practices
  • Experience
  • Developing and monitoring a budget
  • Developing and implementing public health operating policies and procedures
  • Interpreting and applying federal and state public health laws
  • Collecting and organizing public health data and developing technical reports
  • Analyzing public health program issues and making recommendations

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or another related field
  • 3-5 years management experience in home health, long-term care facility or health care administration
  • Understanding of home health standards of care associated with the Idaho Bureau of Facility Standards
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong desire to serve the public health needs of North Idaho residents
  • RN license is a plus

Environmental Health Specialist 1 (Underfill for EHS2)

The Environmental Health Specialist 1 is a full-time position that will be used for training toward the Environmental Health Specialist 2 level.  Through on-the-job training and self-study, you will learn to carry out the full duties of the Environmental Health Specialist 2, and the position will be reclassified when that level is achieved.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences or related field and be willing to meet the National Environmental Health Association requirements for a Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian (REHS/RS) or have already met the requirements for the REHS/RS.

Some of your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting field work to determine suitability of land for subsurface sewage disposal systems based on state rules and technical guidance.
  • Reviewing land development projects for compliance with sanitary restriction requirements as outlined in Idaho Statute.
  • Investigating general nuisance/vector, open sewage or food-borne illness complaints and finding compliant solutions to problems.
  • Assessing retail food establishments for compliance with food safety rules, good manufacturing practices & proper sanitation standards.

Administrative Assistant

Our Environmental Health team is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join a fast-paced office providing administrative support for the Environmental Health team.  Duties for this position include:

  • Provide administrative support to the Division Administrator and department management staff.
  • Organize meetings.
  • Attend and take meeting minutes.
  • Oversee maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate purchasing of goods and services for the department.
  • Prepare reports as needed.
  • Greet callers and in-person visitors.
  • Research public records.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams); have attention to detail with strong organizational skills; be able to manage multiple projects and work well under pressures of deadlines.  It is essential that the candidate selected for this position have the ability to develop positive relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners, an exceptional work ethic and strong communication skills.

Panhandle Health District is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative to work in the Hayden Nutrition Services office. This position provides essential clerical support services necessary to support the operations of the Nutrition Services department.  This position establishes and maintains client records, gathers client information, provides information to clients on community resources, schedules appointments, issues WIC benefits, determines eligibility for services and may perform services for the WIC Clinical Assistant as needed. Salary is $12.69 per hour plus benefits.
