FAMILY PLANNING

Family planning services help individuals achieve their desired number and spacing of children, increasing the chances that a baby will be born healthy, and improving their health even if they choose to not have children.

VISION:

The goal of Panhandle Health District’s family planning program is to ensure that every person in North Idaho has equitable access to informed reproductive health choices, quality clinical services, resources, referrals, and education.

BENEFITS:

To ensure equitable access to family planning services, we offer low or no cost, confidential services family planning services.

OUR SERVICES

WHAT SERVICES ARE CONSIDERED FAMILY PLANNING?

  • Birth control starts, management, and conclusion
  • Emergency contraception
  • Preconception counseling
  • Gynecological exams including breast exam
  • Pregnancy testing
  • STD and HIV testing and counseling ($25 flat fee for STD appointment and testing for those 17 and younger)
  • Reproductive health information, education and counseling services related to pregnancy.

  • Oral Contraceptive Pills
  • Nuva Ring
  • Depo-Provera Shot
  • Intrauterine Devices (IUD)
  • Implant
  • Condoms
  • Natural Family Planning

HOW DO YOU PROTECT MY CONFIDENTIALITY?

All services at Panhandle Health District are 100% Confidential.  You can request to have any mailings be sent to a different address than your home.  If you (or your parents) have health insurance, but you choose not to use it due to confidentiality, your health insurance will not be contacted.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED IN A FAMILY PLANNING APPOINTMENT?

  • Abortions
  • Fertility treatments
  • Services not related to family planning
